Mansa man arrested for defiling stepdaughter

POLICE in Mansa have arrested a 35-year-old man of Namwandwe area in Luapula Province for allegedly defiling his 12-year-old stepdaughter.

Luapula Province commissioner of Police Hudson Namachila said the incident happened on August 11 this year, around 20:00 hours, whilst the girl’s mother was away.
Mr Namachila named the suspect as Henry Mulubwa.
“We received a case of defilement in which Sara Chibwe, 45, of`Mabumba who reported on behalf of her granddaughter that she was defiled by her stepfather,” Mr Namachila said.
He said the girl sustained bruises on her private part and complained of abdominal pains.
Meanwhile, police in Milenge have arrested a 42-year-old man of Milambo village for indecently assaulting his 12-year-old stepdaughter.
Mr Namachila said the incident happened on August 14, 2017 around 20:00 hours.
“We have arrested Joseph Chama who indecently assaulted his stepdaughter. He tried to penetrate but failed as he was caught by the girl’s mother,” he said.
Mr Namachila said both suspects are in police custody and will appear in court soon.
