Man ‘washes’ marital woes

A 37-YEAR-OLD man of McKenzie township in Ndola has committed suicide by plunging himself in Kafubu River after a marital dispute.

Copperbelt police commissioner Charity Katanga said in an interview yesterday that Sydney Tembo went missing on July 18 this year and his body was only discovered floating on the river on Monday.
“Yes, I can confirm that we have a report in which a man committed suicide by throwing himself into the Kafubu River. It’s believed that he had a marital dispute and he later decided to take his life.
“I cannot go into details on the reasons why the man committed suicide, but I can only say that he had a marital dispute,” she said.
Mr Tembo’s body was identified by his brother-in-law, Edwin Banda, after it was retrieved by the Ndola Fire Brigade.
