Man stabs wife, bolts

POLICE in Kitwe have launched a hunt for a 58-year-old man of Malembeka township who allegedly stabbed his wife to death with a sharp object after a marital dispute.

Copperbelt police commissioner Charity Katanga has identified the victim as Inyamwenzi Mwanza, 31, who died after sustaining deep wounds on her head.
Mrs Katanga said in an interview yesterday that the incident happened between 14:00 hours and 19:00 hours on Wednesday.
She named the suspect as Brian Mwabula, who went into hiding immediately after committing the alleged crime.
“The whereabouts of the suspect are unknown but we are looking for him. We are investigating the matter,” she said.
Mrs Katanga has urged members of the public to assist police with any information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect.
