Man jailed 5 years for selling pangolin

CHALI MULENGA, Livingstone
THE Livingstone Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a 54-year-old peasant farmer of Kazungula to five years imprisonment with labour for selling a live pangolin.
This is a case in which Charles Simulambo of Mungala village was charged with unlawful possession of a protected trophy.
On October 16 this year in Livingstone, Simulambo was found with one live pangolin without authority from the director of the Department of National Parks and Wildlife.
Facts before the court were that officers from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife received information that there was a man with a red crate of Coca Cola in which he hid a pangolin.
