ZAMBIA striker Justin Shonga has dedicated the two goals he scored to his mother and to teammate Augustine Mulenga’s child, who was born on the day the Chipolopolo drew 1-1 with Namibia in the 2019 Cameroon Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Three days after netting the equaliser in Windhoek, Shonga’s solitary goal was enough for the Chipolopolo to edge Gabon 1-0 in an international friendly in Libreville.
“As a striker, my job is to score goals. It was a good experience scoring twice for my country. That is what I have been working on. My mission getting into the two games was to ensure I can score and I thank God I did. Sometimes, people don’t have faith in players but we have to prove to them. I have to prove I am a striker by scoring goals,” Shonga said from Johannesburg yesterday.
He believes the Chipolopolo have the capacity to qualify for the tournament in Cameroon.
