Makululu school construction cheers Govt

CHAMBO NG’UNI, Kabwe
MINISTER of General Education Dennis Wanchinga is happy with the quality of works being undertaken by BSBK Joint Venture on the construction of Makululu Secondary School in Kabwe.
The learning institution will be the first-ever secondary school in Makululu township. The government has so far spent K51, 287,490.76 on the project, which started in 2014.
Dr Wanchinga, who recently visited the school construction site in the company of Central Province Minister Sydney Mushanga, commended BSBK Joint Venture for carrying out quality works.
“This is very impressive, I am happy with the pace at which the project is moving. I am happy that the contractor is assuring us that by April, the project will be completed,” he said.
Dr Wanchinga said construction of Makululu Secondary School is an important project which requires quality works.
He said Government will continue constructing more secondary schools in various parts of the country to increase citizens’ access to quality education.
“This school will go a long way in bringing education closer to the people of Makululu,” Dr Wanchinga said.
And Mr Mushanga said Makululu residents are happy that they will soon have a secondary school closer to their homes for the first time.
“We promised the people of Makululu in 2011 that the first infrastructure we were going to build was a secondary school, and this is what we have done,” he said.
Mr Mushanga, who is Bwacha member of Parliament where the school is being built, said a head teacher, deputy head teacher, heads of departments, teachers and other support staff have already been employed to ensure that the school becomes operational immediately its construction finishes.
He urged the school employees and Makululu residents to protect the infrastructure at the new school because Government has spent huge sums of money on its construction.
Mr Mushanga also commended Dr Wanchinga and his team for taking time to visit the construction site to check on how the project is progressing.
