Mail staffer scoops SADC award

ZAMBIA Daily Mail deputy features editor Emelda Mwitwa yesterday scooped a print media award at the Southern African Development Community (SADC) summit here.
Mrs Mwitwa was among five other journalists who received certificates and gift vouchers from Malawian President Peter Mutharika at the 34th SADC Heads of State and Government Summit.
SADC head of public relations Leefa Martin said Mrs Mwitwa emerged best in the print media general category.
Other regional journalists who were awarded are Jacqueline Hindjou-Mafwila from Namibia who dominated the radio category, Alfred Simango of Mozambique (television) and Zimbabwean Factmore Dzobo (print media), Botswana’s Felicity Male (photography), while the photo-journalism award went to Munyaradzi Chamalimba of Zimbabwe.
The SADC media awards are an annual event and have four categories: print, radio, television and photo-journalism.
