NKOLE NKOLE, Lusaka
HIP-HOP artiste Magg44 begins his ‘Brave Only Kopala Tour’ at the end of this month, touring four Copperbelt towns starting with Kitwe on October 28 and ending with Ndola on October 30. Other Copperbelt towns he is scheduled to tour are Chingola and Kalulushi.
Artistes featuring on the tour include The Proof, Esther Chungu and Church, who are all signed to the Brave Only music label.
Magg 44 also shared that two surprise artistes will be unveiled during the Kopala Tour.
The tour will mark the start of a number of tours that Magg 44 plans to hold in different parts of the country.
The artiste also intends to take the tour to other parts of Africa during the course of next year.
“The purpose is to build a mindset of being ‘Brave Only’ and let people know what being brave or fearless is all about,” he explained with regards to the tour.
Magg 44 said the other purpose for touring the country is that he does not believe there have been a lot of tours by hip hop artistes in Zambia over the years.
The artiste, who is also a music producer, is presently working on artistes’ Microphone 7 and Esther Chungu’s albums. Both artistes are signed to the Brave Only music label which Magg 44 started last year.
Brave Only is Magg 44’s second studio album which was released in December last year and features a distinct Zamrock sound in most of the songs on the album.
Popular songs off the album include Ndemwentula and Ipongoloke which have been played heavily on local radio.
Magg 44 is also a 2015 Zambian Music Award (ZMAs) nominee in the Best Studio Sound Producer category.
