Mafikizolo to grace Matebeto

SOUTH African singing duo Mafikizolo is expected to perform at the Zamfest dubbed “Biggest Matebeto Ever” to be held in the Lusaka Showgrounds on April 28 – 29.
Zamfest, which this year is being sponsored by MTN Zambia, is an annual event aimed at prompting food, art and music.
The festival will also be attended by South African chef Sibahle Mtongana, otherwise known as Siba Mtongana
Siba, a celebrity chef known for hosting the Food Network show Siba’s Table, is currently a judge on Chopped South Africa, alongside Jenny Morris and David van Staden.
Organiser of the event, Donald Muma, who is director of Mojo Media, told the Weekend Mail that Siba is expected to share a light moment with local amateur chefs. She will have a cooking master class while some delicious cuisine will be sampled.
“The main aim of the event is to feast, it’s about food but we always add other activities like music and art, it’s a good way to celebrate,” Donald said.
“This year’s festival is assorted, we have also organised for Patience Namadingo, a Malawian gospel singer and also some South African DJ’s will be in attendance, plus other local artistes,” Muma explained.
Mafikizolo, who have been in Zambia before for some performances, will perform alongside Zambian artistes James Sakala and El Mukuka.
Mafikizolo (Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Nciza), are three-time winners of the South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Group or Duo of the Year.
Mafikizolo, known for songs like Meet Me at the River and Marabi, was originally a three-member group before one of them, Tebogo Madingoane died.
