THE 2017 Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA) season revs off today with over 22 drivers stepping on the pedal in the Madmax national rally championship.
Defending champion Muna Singh junior, his elder brother Jassy, Leroy Gomes, Vyon Pinto, new entrants Farook Sidique and Zain Sedique among others will display their driving skills.
Muna Singh senior, who came out of retirement last year, will not compete this year due to a busy schedule.
Other notable drivers that have withdrawn from this weekend’s rally are the Chulu brothers Lastone and Geoffrey and Farook Ticklay.
The rally, covering 115 kilometres, will rev off from Waterfalls Farm in Chisamba, where drivers will showcase their dare-devil driving stunts before proceeding to Graham Rae Farms for the final stage tomorrow.
ZMSA vice-president Sam Ching’ambu said arrangements for staging the events have been finalised.
Ching’ambu commended companies that have come on board to ensure the event is staged.
Course Clerk Elmandy Gumbo said the routes are ready for the event.
