Lwandamina explains why he didn’t join champions

MANFRED Chabinga owes George Lwandamina one. One of the worst kept secrets in local football is that Nkana remain unconvinced with Chabinga despite the coach landing the club their 13th league title last season.
Nkana have been actively involved in the search for someone to either replace Chabinga or work alongside him. And when Lwandamina departed Zesco United at the end of the season, Nkana sounded him out for the job.
Having failed to land him, the club over the weekend expressed their frustrations that Chicken George had opted for promoted side Prison Leopards, where he is now technical advisor, at the expense of the champions.
But Lwandamina had told Sports Mail that he did not snub Nkana but decided not to join the Wusakili outfit because he never wanted to replace Manfred Chabinga as head coach.
In an interview, Lwandamina said he is surprised that Nkana are saying that he snubbed them when he clearly indicated during their discussions that he was only ready to take up a role of either technical advisor or technical director.
