LuSE trade sees slight drop

THE Lusaka Stock Exchange (LuSE) recorded a significant reduction in turnover of K360, 000 from K1.7 million the previous week to K1.3 million last week.
The decline is due to a reduction in the number of shares transacted on the local bourse, which recorded a total of 191,831 shares transacted in 66 trades compared to 792,492 shares transacted in 46 trades the previous week.
According to the LuSE weekly report, the stock market recorded trade activity in 14 firms with Zambeef Products accounting for a bulk of K120,000, followed by Zambian Breweries at K110,078 while Metal Fabricators of Zambia (ZAMEFA)and Zanaco registered K17,700 and K7,052 respectively .
Others were Zanaco, African Explosives Limited Zambia, Bata, British American Tobacco Zambia, Copperbelt Energy Corporation, Lafarge and Madison Financial Services, Pamodzi, Puma, Real Estate Investment Zambia, Standard Chartered Zambia and Zambia Sugar.
On price share changes, Zanaco posted a K0.04 while Zambeef Products recorded a loss of K0.10.
Meanwhile, the LuSE all -share index closed the week 4,073.08 points, up by 0.16 percentage point from the previous close of 4,066.37 points. In dollar terms, it was up by 9.04 percent.
