Lusaka Stars thrash compatriots

LUSAKA Stars ladies yesterday thrashed compatriots DE Stars in the classification match to finish fifth at the ongoing Africa Cup Club Hockey Championship at Olympic Youth Development Centre in Lusaka.
Lusaka Stars, who have been eliminated from the main tournament after losing all their group matches, proved to be a class above hapless DE Stars.
Stars finished fifth above DE, who have failed to win a single game at the tournament.
And Sharkia from Egypt became the first side to qualify for the semi-finals after beating Niger Flickers of Nigeria 7-3.
Sharkia went to the break leading 4-1 and upped the tempo in the second half scoring three more goals.
The Nigerians tried to come back into the match and got two quick goals but Sharkia held on.
