Lusaka gets 7 civic centres


CABINET has endorsed the construction of civic centres in each of the seven constituencies in Lusaka.
Minister of Local Government Vincent Mwale said this is part of the decentralisation policy to allow citizens to access services closer to their homes.

Mr Mwale said this when he officially opened the Kaunda Square Stage One market built at a cost of over K2 million.

“We will not allow our people to spend money coming to Lusaka Civic Centre. There are always a lot of queues, and some people are sent back and told to come back at another date,” he said.
He said the construction of civic centres will start next month.
