Lusaka billboards chaos needs attention

Dear editor,
I WOULD like to comment on an article that appeared in the Daily Mail on Tuesday November 25, 2014 concerning billboards in Lusaka.
I totally agree with the author that these billboards have become a danger to human life.
The Lusaka City Council has been allowing advertisers to indiscriminately erect bill boards all lover the capital city without considering safety precautions.
Most of these billboards have created blind spots for motorists while others are so bright that they blind motorists at night.
While we appreciate the need for the council to generate revenue for service delivery it should not use means that pose a danger to the lives of the same people it wants to serve.
I am appealing to the Road Transport and Safety Agency to send its officers to make an audit of all the billboards on public roads and see for themselves what people are complaining about.
MOTORIST
