Lungu takes oath

KELVIN KACHINGWE, Lusaka
PRESIDENT-ELECT Edgar Lungu and Vice- President-elect Inonge Wina today take oath of office at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium during which they are expected to give their collective vision for a buoyant Zambia in the next five years.
Mr Lungu polled 1,860,877 votes to garner an outright victory at 50.4 percent, while United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema had 1,760,347 votes representing 47.6 percent.
The inauguration comes almost a month after he was declared winner of the August 11 presidential election by Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) chairperson and returning officer Justice Esau Chulu and following the conclusion of court processes.READ MORE
