PRESIDENT Lungu is today expected in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the 29th Ordinary Summit of heads of State and Government
of the African Union (AU).
Special assistant for press and public relations Amos Chanda said President Lungu is scheduled to deliver a speech on the progress made in curbing child marriage during the summit.
The President will do so in his capacity as a champion against child marriage, which was conferred on him by the United Nations and AU. The summit is scheduled for July 3 and 4 and is being held under the theme `Harnessing the Demographic Dividend: Investment in the Youth’.
Mr Chanda said Mr Lungu will also give a report from the Committee of 10, which was formulated to push for Africa’s membership on the UN Security Council.
