PRESIDENT Lungu has accepted an invitation to attend the inauguration ceremony of Rwandan President Paul Kagame to be held on August 18, 2017.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba said in a statement yesterday that President Kagame came to Zambia on a State visit in June 2017, during which the two heads of State held fruitful talks which will result in increased co-operation and enhanced bilateral relations between Zambia and Rwanda.

“It is in that spirit of co-operation and solidarity that President Lungu accepted the invitation and, therefore, will, on Thursday, August 17, travel to Rwanda to show support to his brother and counterpart, as well as to represent the government and people of Zambia at the ceremony,” he said.
Mr Kalaba said Rwanda has one of the fastest growing economies on the continent and in the world, and has, like Zambia, made significant strides in its socio-economic development agenda.
