Lumwana lose, Zanaco held

NCHANGA Rangers yesterday summoned their energy handing Lumwana Radiants the first loss of the season in a Super Division Week Seven encounter.
The defeat left Lumwana third with 14 points at par with leaders Zanaco, who battled to a goalless draw with

Nkana. Second-placed Zesco United have 14 points.
Zanaco have a healthier goal difference having scored 16 times and conceded four while Zesco have netted 12 and allowed six goals.
On the other hand, Lumwana have struck eight times and conceded three.
Skipper Bwalya Kasonde and midfielder Martin Njovu contributed a goal apiece to ensure Rangers collected maximum points.
Rangers have eight points.
POWER 2 EAGLES 0
Midfielder Fwayo Tembo’s first-half double was enough for Power Dynamos to see off 10- man Green Eagles at Arthur Davis Stadium in Kitwe.
Power opened the scoring 12 minutes into the game when Fwayo beat Eagles goalkeeper Robert Mwanza with a volley.
Fwayo added the second to seal Power’s third win of the season when he lashed a close-range shot off Ndhlovu’s pass five minute from time.
Eagles suffered a set-back when referee Kennedy Chimese gave midfielder Collins Mulenga matching orders for a second bookable offence in the 88th minute.
NAKONDE 0 NAKAMBALA 0
Real Nakonde and Nakambala Leopards battled to a goalless draw at New Stadium in Muchinga Province.
The draw pushed Nakonde to seven points, two clear of second-from-bottom Nakambala.
ZANACO 0 NKANA 0
Zanaco moved to the summit of the Super Division despite battling to a goalless draw with Nkana in an early kick-off at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, ROBINSON KUNDA reports.
Nkana star striker Walter Bwalya missed a penalty in the 18th minute.
Referee Wi sdom Chewe awarded Nkana a penalty after Zanaco defender Ziyo Tembo hacked Ronald Kampamba.
However, goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata came to the Bankers’ rescue when he denied Bwalya from the spot.
Nkana move to nine points.
DYNAMOS 1 WANDERERS 0
Lusaka Dynamos silenced struggling Mufulira Wanderers at National Heroes Stadium i n L u s a k a , SYLVESTER CHISHIMBA reports.
Marvin Jere netted the solitary goal in the 40th minute after latching onto a Cletus Chama cross to hand Dynamos their third consecutive win.
Paul Banda almost doubled the lead but he directed his shot straight at Wanderers goalkeeper Chrispin Chisowa.
Dynamos have 12 points while Wanderers have one.
WARRIORS 1 BLADES 1
Kabwe Warriors came from behind to hold Konkola Blades at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium, CHAMBO NG’UNI reports.
Striker Frank Chinyamba put Blades ahead in the 16th minute slotting the ball past Warriors goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga.
Paul Simpemba cancelled Chinyamba’s opener with a splendid strike in the 36th minute.
Blades have 11 points, six better than Warriors.
BUILDCON 0 FOREST 1
Forest Rangers beat Buildcon in a Ndola derby at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, MULWANDA LUPIYA reports.
Midfielder Webster Muzaza scored the all-important goal to hand Forest their third win of the season.
Forest have 11 points while Buildon are stuck on seven.
