POLICE in Luanshya have detained a woman for allegedly bludgeoning her 52-year-old ‘boyfriend’ to death with the help of her suspected new lover after the victim found the two together at her house.
Her accomplice is on the run and police said they have mounted a spirited manhunt to bring him before the law.
Copperbelt commissioner of police Charity Katanga said the dead man of Mpatamatu township was allegedly battered to death on Christmas Day in the same area.
Mrs Katanga said the incident happened between 03:00 hours and 04:00 hours on Sunday.
She named the victim as Stephen Mulenga of house number 25/26, Mpatamatu, and the suspect as Bwalya Komakoma, 22, of 310/21 in the same township.
Mrs Katanga named the fugitive lover only as Kalela.
“A hoe is alleged to have been used during the act. Komakoma has been apprehended while Kalela is on the run,†Mrs Katanga said.
