Luangwa gets hospital

THE construction of Luangwa District Hospital has been completed at a cost of about K11 million, Luangwa district commissioner Eunie Mumba has said.
Mr Mumba said yesterday that the hospital is scheduled to be handed over to Government soon.
“The construction of Luangwa district hospital has been completed. It was completed last week. The first phase of the project involved construction of a maternity wing, laundry, X-ray room and mortuary at a cost of K4 million and the second phase involved the construction of an administration block, female ward, out-patient department and four doctors’ flats at a cost of K7.2 million,” he said.
Mr Mumba said the construction of the institution will go a long way in improving healthcare delivery in the district.
He said Government has already procured some of the equip-ment for the hospital and urged the people to continue working with Government in its quest to develop the district.
