PRESIDENT Lungu says it was devastating for the Chipolopolo to be defeated by Guinea Bissau in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Zambia conceded in stoppage time to lose 3-2 in the Group E qualifier and bow out of the race to the Gabon finals.
“All of us were devastated. If we won, everyone would have been happy,” President Lungu said at Nchanga Golf Club yesterday during the Konkola Copper Mines Zambia Open Golf Championship prize presentation ceremony.
Meanwhile, skipper Rainford Kalaba is disappointed that the Chipolopolo will miss the Gabon finals and has called for level-headedness in charting the way forward.
Kalaba said in interview at Azalai Hotel on Saturday night that it is painful to miss the showpiece. http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
