ZAMBEZI Ranching and Cropping Limited has urged Government to implement strict policies that will protect local markets from subsidised imports to enable local farmers to benefit from their produce.
Company managing director Graham Rae said Zambia has to compete with subsidised imports of which majority should have tariffs applied to them to level the playing field.
In an interview recently ahead of the Agritech Expo in Chisamba next month, Mr Rae said Zambia’s agriculture sector has the potential to grow and supply the sub-region, but there is need to engage Government to assist in controlling imports and reducing input costs.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
