Local contractors get K1.3 billion

GOVERNMENT has released K1.3 billion for dismantling debts owed to local contractors of various projects which are at least 80 percent complete.Chairperson of the ministerial committee on infrastructure development Ronald Chitotela said at a press briefing yesterday that Government wants to clear the K4 billion it owes contractors by end of this year.
Mr Chitotela, who is Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development, said of the K1.3 billion, K600 million will be paid to contractors working on road projects, while K700 million will be distributed to infrastructure projects under various ministries.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
