GOVERNMENT has called on co-operating partners to support the implementation of the World Tourism Trade Facilitation Agreement (WTOTFA) measures to ease trade and achieve the pact by 2021.
Zambia recently signed the WTOTFA that came into effect on February 22, 2017.
During the meeting with co-operating partners, Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry permanent secretary Kayula Siame reemphasised the importance of the trade facilitation reform agenda in relation to the ease of doing business in Zambia and requested all agencies to have a total buy-in of the reform agenda.
“The acceleration of implementation of WTOTFA measures, have been slowed down by logistical and financial constraints. Implementation agencies were also encouraged to make trade facilitation reform one of the strategic pillars of their routine operations,” she said.
