Ladies go crazy for Fifty Shades Darker

MWAZIPEZA CHANDA, Lusaka
THE sold-out show at Lusaka’s SterKinekor Arcades outlet proved that the ladies love an opportunity to go out and have a glimpse of something taboo in the form of Fifty Shades Darker.
The red carpet event was billed as a Girlfriend Getaway and the 400 tickets were gone in a flash. Sponsors of the event were Radisson Blu who provided cocktails and snacks, while Flying Fish provided a refreshing beverage before the screening of the sequel to the hit Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
Apparently, it was a women’s only event and the excitement levels were high as the ladies made their way to Arcades to watch the two special screenings.
They were at Arcades in large numbers – some rushed from their offices, some straight from the lecture room, others from home while others came dressed ready for a fun Friday night.
Some of the lucky ladies who got their hands on the coveted tickets said it was the perfect way to end the week-surrounded by friends, with good food and a romantically wicked movie to watch.
“The theme of the Fifty Shades movie is a bit taboo,” says movie-lover Sibo Mbewe, “but it is nice to be here with my friends and get a peek into a fantasy world.”
Another movie goer said her husband bought two movie tickets for herself and best friend as a combined Valentines and Birthday gift.
The Girlfriend Getaway package included complimentary popcorn and the ladies were treated to a red carpet and photo opportunity, while SterKinekor staff donned evening gowns and masks to match the theme of the Fifty Shades movie.
