I WISH to commend Zamtel for the good work the company has done by refurbishing the maternity ward at the women and newborn hospital at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).
The massive rehabilitation works which involved the installation of modern fittings and fixtures such as floor tiles, suspended ceiling, bathrooms, bedside lockers and drawers, florescent lights, fridges, new curtains, and the installation of new Mukwa double doors, will benefit many people in for a long time to come.
Apart from the rehabilitations, Zamtel has also installed 4.5 Internet access for administration staff and the general ward.
This is the kind of corporate social responsibility which makes sense because it will have impact on our mothers and their care-givers.
Zamtel’s gesture is a perfect example of corporate social responsibility which does not thrive on free publicity or hypes. It is real.
Keep it up Zamtel.
