MAHATMA Gandhi once said: “An ounce of practice is worth more than tonnes of preaching.”Gandhi, one of the greatest leaders to have ever lived, was referring to people’s attitude towards work.
And recently in Zambia, so much has been said about civil servants’ poor attitude towards work.
Recently, Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo was forced to send away public service workers who reported late for work.
With this global challenge, I have observed some of the executives in public service who are showcasing positive and impact-driven attitude towards work.
While doing a survey at the University of Zambia among members of staff, the registrar, Sitali Wamundila, stood out.
Mr Sitali is always on time and he deeply understands that the sustainable way to teach someone is by being practical.
Being practical was one of the virtues our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ left us to live with.
