KPMG wins fundraising golf tourney

SYLVESTER CHISHIMBA, Lusaka
KPMG on Sunday won the Rotary Club of Maluba fundraising golf tournament at Lusaka Golf Club.
Team KPMG garnered 113 points to emerge winners while runners-up Superior Milling amassed 98 points.
Nemerit finished third with 85 points.
KPMG walked away with four microwaves while Superior Milling got four LG sandwich makers.
The best male golfer award went to Musiwa Hlomayi, who won a ticket for a weekend for two at Hotel Intercontinental in Lusaka while the best female accolade went to Lonah Mwenda.
The tournament was meant to raise funds for the completion of a clinic in Kasengwa village in Chongwe district.
The Rotary Club of Maluba, in partnership with the Anglican Church, ar e building the clinic for the residents of Kasengwa village.
Kasengwa village, with a population of over 8,000, does not have a health centre.
Rotary Club of Maluba president Benson Muchelemba said the project implemented in collaboration with the Anglican Church is a humanitarian and noble cause to improve the lives, in Kasengwa village and the surrounding areas.
“I would like to commend all the sponsors and well-wishers who have come on board to make sure that this tournament was a success,” he said.
And tournament organising chairman Christopher Mulenga thanked sponsors and golfers for, the event a reality.
Minister of Finance Alexander Chikwanda and prominent business men and women participated in the tournament.
