KK calls for heart institute

KABANDA CHULU, Lusaka
FORMER President Kenneth Kaunda says Zambia should develop a local cardiac institute at which heart patients would be treated instead of sending them for expensive specialist treatment abroad.
The National Heart Coalition has proposed to design and construct a US$20 million Zambia Heart Institute to help reduce the growing burden of heart diseases.
According to the Zambia Medical Association (ZMA), one in every 10 adults admitted to the University Teaching Hospital has problems related to the heart.READ MORE
