MULWANDA LUPIYA, Ndola
KITWE Playing Field’s stay on the summit of the National Rugby League will today face a test when they host defending champions Red Arrows in a Week Five encounter.
Third-placed Green Eagles take on ‘Men at Work’ Diggers in Kabwe.
KPF vs ARROWS
A mouthwatering encounter awaits rugby fans in Buchi township when the title contenders faceoff in the top of the bill clash.
KPF have 18 points, three clear of Arrows.
A win for the hosts will consolidate their stay on the log while victory for the airmen will see them returning to the top.
To stun Arrows, coach Maybin Sinkala will look to Benaya Mukwamba, Terry Kayamba, Charles Tembo and Kaluba Chilundami.
“We are very much ready for the game and Arrows is just like any other team and we will never underrate them but we will compete against them,” Sinkala said.
On the other hand, Arrows, lining up internationals – Terry Kaushiku, Emmanuel Daka, Simon Nyangu and Nigel Chibwe, will aim at teaching KPF a rugby lesson.
EAGLES vs DIGGERS
Eagles have a chance to close the gap with the top two teams if they beat sixth-placed Diggers.
Eagles have 14 points while Diggers have nine.
Elsewhere, ‘Powerhouse’ Lusaka entertain Nkwazi, Kansanshi welcome Chibuluma while Konkola, Mufulira B and Nchanga take on Roan, Buffaloes and Ndola respectively.
Mufulira A are on bye.
