Kitwe, Lusaka
KITWE United yesterday received a heroes welcome following their return to the Super Division.
The Buchi Boys beat Zesco Luapula 2-0 in Mansa on Sunday to finish top of Division One Zone Two table with 62 points, two better than Kansanshi Dynamos.

The team dropped to the first division in 2006.

In a scene that can only be likened to a trophy parade, the Kitwe United team bus, sandwiched between two fire tenders, drove around the city centre much to the delight of onlookers.
The ‘motorcade’ then proceeded to the Kitwe civic centre, where the players and officials were received by jubilant council workers.
As if that was not enough, the team proceeded to Buchi township with other motorists joining in honking.
In Buchi, business came to a standstill as hundreds of chanting residents chased after the entourage to the club’s home ground – Garden Park in Parklands.
It took 10 minutes for the Kitwe Mitsubishi Rosa minibus to enter Garden Park after fans surrounded it…
