Kitwe Central Hospital in 65 health workers gain

GOVERNMENT has deployed 65 health workers to Kitwe Central Hospital (KCH) of the 500 newly-recruited health personnel to provide quality medical services to the residents in the district.
Ministry of Health permanent secretary Jabbin Mulwanda said during a familiarisation tour of the hospital on Tuesday that the health workers have since reported for work.
Mr Mulwanda said the health institution has made significant strides in improving health services at the institution.
“Most of you are familiar with the story of congestion in health facilities, but the local management has been very innovative. We now have more health staff, which means that patients can be attended to quicker,” Mr Mulwanda said.
Mr Mulwanda said the recruitment of health workers is a positive step because patients do not need to wait for a long time to be attended to.
He said provision of quality healthcare services is guaranteed with adequate medical health staff.
Mr Mulwanda said Government remains committed to providing the necessary health services to citizens across the country.
He said the pharmacy, laboratory and imaging services are now done 24 hours at the health facility.
Mr Mulwanda said the recruitment of health workers demonstrates the significance Government attaches towards safeguarding lives of citizens from various ailments.
