KCM allays job losses fears

KONKOLA Copper Mines (KCM) has allayed fears that the 40-day maintenance shutdown of its Nchanga smelter will result in job losses.
Speaking when Copperbelt Minister Bowman Lusambo visited Nchanga smelter on Saturday, KCM chief executive officer Steven Din dismissed reports that the shutdown of the smelter will result in job losses at the Vedanta Resources Plc-owned mining company.
He said the shutdown of Nchanga smelter is necessary because it will bring about increased efficiency in KCM’s operations.READ MORE
