Kawambwa to get $200 million sugar plant

THE US$200 million-plus sugar project in Kawambwa is nearing reality after Nava Bharat Ventures Limited (NBVL) finally submitted an environmental impact assessment (EIA) report to pave way for development.

NBVL through its local subsidiary, Kawambwa Sugar Limited (KSL) has since submitted an EIA report to the Zambia Environmental Management Authority detailing it socio-economic benefits.

KSL, which is expected to create about 3,500 direct permanent and seasonal jobs, is implementing the integrated Sugar Project in Luena Farm Block with a production capacity of http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
