Kaumbwe MP calls for secondary school

MAYENGO NYIRENDA, Chipata
KAUMBWE member of Parliament Listed Tembo has appealed to Government to consider building a secondary school in his constituency.
Mr Tembo says there is no single secondary school in Kaumbwe where

pupils passing from lower grades can carry on with their secondary education.
He said in an interview that Petauke Central and Msanzala constituencies have a good number of secondary schools, which is not the case with Kaumbwe.
“I am urging Government to consider building a secondary school in Kaumbwe constituency. The new constituency has no secondary school but when we talk about Petauke Central and Msanzala, they have quite a good number of secondary schools,” he said.
Mr Tembo said the lack of a secondary school in Kaumbwe constituency has led to an increase in the number of teenage pregnancies and child marriages.
Meanwhile, Mr Tembo said Government has started rehabilitating Nzuni-Matonge and Makhungwe-Mando roads in his constituency.
Mr Tembo said he is happy that Government has engaged a Lusaka-based contractor to work on all roads in Kaumbwe.
“The roads are being worked on by a Lusaka-based contractor and once the rehabilitation is completed, it will boost agriculture in the area,” he said.
