WITH less than two weeks remaining before Green Eagles make their maiden bow in continental football, it is certainly an anxious moment for the Choma-based side.
While waiting to learn whether the Confederation of African football (CAF) will give the go-ahead for them to use Choma’s Independence Stadium for the Confederations Cup, there is also news that top striker Tapson Kaseba is trying to secure a future away from the Zambia National Service (ZNS)-sponsored side.
Eagles, who finished fourth in the FAZ Super League to qualify for the first time for the CAF competition, will face Young Buffaloes of eSwatini on November 27 in the preliminary round first leg match.
CAF inspectors led by club licensing instructor Derek Blanckensee yesterday toured Independence Stadium to assess whether it is capable of hosting continental matches.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
