NANCY SIAME, Lusaka
PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Kasama district secretary Kelvin Sichizya says party secretary-general Davies Mwila’s recent tour of Northern Province has started bearing fruit following the
revival of party structures which had collapsed prior to the 2016 general elections.
Mr Sichizya said five of the nine PF ward structures, which collapsed in Lukashya constituency in Kasama, have been reconstituted to the delight of many members.
He said party structures in Chiba, Kupumaula, Mukanga, Kapongolo and Chibundu and Lualuo are now operating normally and that the local leadership has since embarked on a vigorous mobilisation exercise.
He said this in a statement issued yesterday by PF media director Sunday Chanda.
“Hundreds of PF officials in the constituency are battling for positions in the ward structures. The exercise is being conducted by Lukashya constituency committee and closely supervised by the district executive committee,” Mr Sichizya said.
Mr Sichizya said scores of PF supporters admitted supporting the independent candidate prior to the elections and confessed that they had been deceived and now want to be back in their party.
And PF Kasama district chairman, Kalanga Bwalya who is leading a team of officials in the exercise, says despite logistical challenges, the entire constituency will be visited in the next few weeks to complete the exercise.
