Kamwanga lauds Barclays Cup qualification

DIVISION One (North) Lumwana Radiants coach Allan Kamwanga has lauded his team’s qualification for the 2015 Barclays Cup.
The Solwezi outfit clinched qualification for this year’s edition after demolishing Zesco Solwezi 4-0 in a Week 17 match at Solwezi Stadium last Saturday to secure the first slot on the log after first round of matches.
Kamwanga said in an interview yesterday that his team’s qualification demonstrates its determination to winning promotion to the elite league.
“I am happy that we have qualified to the competition for the first time in the history of the club. It means a lot to the club which is just two years old in Division One. It’s a good feeling, especially that we are coming from North-Western Province,” he said.
The former Mufulira Wanderers and Zambia defender said the club will not be carried away by the achievement.
He said the team will prepare adequately for the final round of the season to ensure the Solwezi outfit wins promotion to the big league.
Lumwana have 35 points, two better than second-placed Kalulushi Modern Stars.
