PATRIOTIC Front (PF) national youth chairperson Stephen Kampyongo has disbursed K75,000 to Munali constituency to enable youths venture into various economically viable business activities in the area.
And Mr Kampyongo has urged youths in Munali constituency to be disciplined and promote national unity in the country.
Speaking during the handover ceremony yesterday, Mr Kampyongo said the governing party is committed to empowering youths across the country through various empowerment programmes.
“As Government, we are aware of the challenges youths in the country are going through and we are putting in place various programmes to ensure that we improve the living standards of our youth.
“Youth empowerment is the bedrock of every economy as youths are the future leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
Mr Kampyongo said the empowerment programmes will be rolled out throughout the country so that all provinces partake of the national cake.
He urged youths to be productive and avoid indulging in destructive vices that could hinder them from making positive impact to national development.
And Munali member of Parliament (MP) Nkandu Luo, who was represented by her Musanzala counterpart Peter Daka, urged the youths to attract more people to grow the ruling party.
Professor Luo said youths must be united and embrace new members of the party with love and unity.
Meanwhile, Munali constituency chairperson Daniel Miambo said the money will go a long way in improving the welfare of the youths in the constituency.
Mr Miambo said levels of crime and illicit behaviour will reduce as the youths will be occupied with productive ventures.
