KAMANO Seed Company Limited has received over US$160,000 for achieving seed sales amounting to in excess of 355 metric tonnes of bio-fortified orange maize during 2016/17 season.

The seed that was sold on the open market by Kamano covered 24,000 hectares of orange maize, and is expected to promote food security and income generation among farmers.

The reward is an incentive offered by the Ag-Results Biofortified Maize Pilot project being implemented in Zambia to stimulate orange maize production using a pull mechanism, which incentivises the private sector to create sustainable markets for….http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
