PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has terminated the contract of Bank of Zambia Governor Denny Kalyalya with immediate effect.
Dr Kalyalya has since been replaced by deputy Secretary to the Cabinet – Finance and Economic Development – Christopher Mvunga.
This is according to a statement issued yesterday by Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Isaac Chipampe.
“President of the Republic of Zambia has appointed deputy Secretary to Cabinet – Finance and Economic Development Mr Christopher Mphanza Mvunga as the new Bank of Zambia Governor subject to ratification by the National Assembly,” he said.
Mr Mvunga is former deputy Minister of Finance and National Planning, fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK and ZICA Chartered Accountant. CLICK TO READ MORE
