Kalabo communities become climate resilient

GOVERNMENT is happy with the progress projects under the Pilot Project for Climate Resilience are making in Kalabo district in

Western Province.
Kalabo district commissioner Fridah Luhila said there are 22 groups in Libonda that are doing piggery and poultry.
Mrs Luhila said two piggery projects in Libonda valued at K225,000 are a success.
“Last month, we launched the Mapungu ward projects and 36 groups are going to benefit. The value is K450,000. The groups are sinking boreholes, poultry, piggery and gardening. We are in the process of implementing the ward and district projects,” she said.
She said each of the three wards Libonda, Kuuli and Mapungu will benefit from ward and district projects.
“The value for district projects is K3.6 million,” Mrs Luhila said.
