CHAMA South MP Davison Mung’andu says the population of elephants in his constituency has grown and this is causing human-animal conflict.
He said people in the area are spending nights outside to protect their crops and keep the animals from feeding on the harvest.
Mr Mung’andu said 98 percent of manpower is concentrating on manning the national parks to protect villagers and the crops from animals.
He also said national parks are manned by volunteers instead of experts.
