Jobs creation cheers miners

THE Mine Workers Union of Zambia (MUZ) is hopeful that retrenched miners will benefit from the 10,000 jobs that Government will create on the Copperbelt during the implementation of the multi-million dollar Copperbelt recovery programme.
MUZ general secretary Joseph Chewe said in an interview in Kitwe yesterday that the jobs galore will provide a great opportunity for retrenched miners to earn an income.
“This is a good move which will create jobs for a lot of people,” Mr Chewe said.
President Lungu on Thursday announced a robust three-year Copperbelt recovery programme that includes the construction of US$397 million Ndola International Airport, the US492 million C-400 Copperbelt Township Roads and the US$400 million Kafubu Water Reticulation System.
