Jay Rox donates to My Father’s Home

KELVIN KACHINGWE, Lusaka
JAY Rox, who has had a good year thanks to his album Outside The Box, which has hit songs like Joana, Auto Pilot and Not for Sello, last Friday donated an assortment of products to My Father’s Home in Lusaka’s Kalingalinga area.
The hitmaker, who is also a member of the hip hop group Zone Fam, donated books, pens, pencils, some cloths and school socks to the orphanage.
“We donated more school things than anything because we are looking to help build an educated generation. We are still collecting school supplies, so if anyone is willing to donate, please let us know,” Jay Rox’s manager said in a statement to the Weekend Mail.
A fortnight ago, Jay Rox played Santa Rox at a Christmas special fundraising charity event at Sky Bar, Foxdale Court in Lusaka’s Roma.
In November, Jay Rox won the Best International African Act at BEFFTA Awards, Europe’s biggest award ceremony for black and ethnic minority in entertainment, film, fashion, television and art.
He was nominated alongside Octopizzo, B1, Kidum, Aar Maanta, Zahara, Davido, Wizkid, R2bees, Sarkordie, P Square, Timaya, Olamide, Eddy Kenzo, Tillaman, Dr Sid, Radio & Weasal, Omawunmi, Wande Coal, Awilo Longomba, Tiwa Savage, Emma Nyra, VVIP, Burna Boy, Sauti Sol, Shatta Wale, Samini, Nathalie Makoma, Kalifah Aganaga, Ali Kiba and Diamond Platnumz.
