Jacob Mulenga treks to China

ELIZABETH CHATUVELA, Lusaka
ZAMBIAN striker Jacob Mulenga has joined Chinese top side Shijiazhuang Ever Bright on a two-year contract.
Mulenga, who was featuring for Turkish side Adana Demospor, put pen to paper on Sunday.
In a statement released yesterday, Mulenga expressed happiness with the deal.
“The Chinese club is full of ambitions and the opportunity they presented for new challenges was exciting. I have played in Zambia, Holland, Turkey and now China. I thank God for this opportunity to experience new things and learn another culture that can help me grow better as a footballer and as a man,” Mulenga said.
The 30-year-old said he will work hard at his new club to inspire upcoming players.
Mulenga had stints with Afrisport, French sides Chateroux and Strasbourg and Dutch outfit FC Utrecht.
Other Zambian players featuring in China are James Chamanga and Stopilla Sunzu.
