Insure livestock, crops to lessen impact on business, farmers urged

IN THE wake of climate change, the Pensions and Insurance Authority (PIA) has urged farmers to insure their crops and livestock to lessen the impact on their business.
Zambia is experiencing climate change effects which are negatively impacting on households, farmers and small businesses, with vital growth sectors such as agriculture, mining and energy being affected the most.
PIA acting registrar Titus Nkwale said farmers need to be cautious about the unpredictable weather patterns that have resulted in some parts of the country experiencing drought. CLICK TO READ MORE
