Installation of chief Ishima suspended

SENIOR Chief Ishindi of Zambezi district has postponed the installation of Isaac Kaping’a as Chief Ishima in North-Western Province.
This follows a petition filed in the High Court by members of the Kaluluma family who have challenged Mr Kaping’a’s installation as Chief Ishima.
Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) reports that the traditional leader said this during the installation of village headmen before Saturday’s Lunda Lubanza traditional ceremony.
Chief Ishindi, however, said the Ishima Royal Establishment Electoral College comprising village headmen initially conducted an election and Mr Kaping’a won with 40 votes while Mr Kaluluma got four votes. – ZANIS.
