Inflation rate drops – CSO

ZAMBIA’S annual inflation rate has yet again recorded a drop, reducing by 0.8 percent point on the back of a decrease in prices of selected food items and services.
Central Statistical Office (CSO) director of census and statistics John Kalumbi said inflation dropped from 21 percent in June to 20.2 percent in July.
Mr Kalumbi said at the CSO monthly briefing that of the total inflation rate recorded in July, food and non-alcoholic beverage products accounted for 12.8 percent, while non-food products accounted for 7.4 percent.READ MORE
